Michelle Horlbogen, Founder of The Gentlewoman Boss, is on a mission to foster civility, respect, and integrity in the boardroom and beyond.
Two days after reporting ethical concerns to her employer, Michelle was fired. Six months later she launched her website and podcast as a platform for whistleblowers and targets of workplace abuse and retaliation. As a writer, podcast host, instructor and speaker, Michelle helps people who have been targeted find their voice by leading with transparency about her own experience, mentoring, writing, and sharing empowering content about workplace abuse and board accountability, as well as speaking publicly on the topic.
Michelle believes in a proactive approach to dealing with workplace abuse rather than a reactive one. In the Spring of 2021, she launched "The Gentlewoman Boss Academy”. The academy is designed to equip others with the tools they need to be prepared for the complexities & dynamics of the real-world workplace, to educate them about toxic workplace cultures and how to protect themselves, to build their self-confidence to successfully navigate the workplace, to help them cultivate civility, respect, integrity, professionalism and a strong work ethic, as well as the teamwork, communication, and soft skills that are in high demand by employers today.
Michelle, in addition to being an autodidact, also has an obsession with vintage clothing and fashion and sells what doesn’t fit on her website, The Red Velvet Shoe Vintage.
